My approach

I believe in the healing power of authentic human connection and the value of reaching out in time of need. My aim is to help you with difficult, painful, and vulnerable emotions, and work with you to transform them in lasting ways. If you feel stuck, unmotivated, unfulfilled, are experiencing difficulties in relationships, or are searching for direction or meaning, I will help you identify goals and work with you to achieve them.

I attempt to create a safe environment where we can explore the issues that matter to you. In our exploration of your inner and outer worlds, your desires, the barriers you experience, and the patterns you may be engaging in, a new and more comprehensive picture of you and of your life will often emerge.

Experience has taught me that fostering a deep inner presence is central to the experience of transformation. It enables us to revisit and often reframe the way we relate to ourselves. It also frees us to grieve the unmourned, complete unfinished experiences, and cultivate healthy relationships with others.

To this end, I endeavour to bring authenticity and empathic attunement to each session. I will take care to work within, and be guided by, your individual concerns, with an awareness that any solution will be specifically tailored to your particular needs, pace, and comfort level.

Background

Since graduating with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I have worked as a psychotherapist in various capacities, in private practice as well as in postsecondary institutions and organizations within the community. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and easily connect with multicultural and multigenerational populations.

I work predominantly from an Emotion Focused perspective, and integrate elements of Gestalt, Relational Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Theory.

Services

I come from a client-centred, inclusive and trauma informed perspective. I help people deal with: self-reflection, depression, anxiety, transforming difficult emotions, building self-esteem, fostering inner wholeness and coherence, processing grief, loss, loneliness and alienation, the resolution of emotional injuries, exploration of sense of self, relationship concerns, authentic communication, forming genuine connections, spirituality, death and dying, creativity, and leadership.

If you are interested and would like to explore working together, please feel free to set up a free 30-minute consultation. Currently I only see clients virtually, though I expect that within the near future you will also be welcome at my office in central west Toronto.
